A Message from Our CISO

My fellow Tulanians,

It is my pleasure to kick off the 20th annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month. In an age where technology is an integral part of our daily lives and academic pursuits, we must prioritize the protection of our digital assets, personal information, and the integrity of our academic and research endeavors. Throughout October, we have an exciting lineup of content planned to empower everyone with the knowledge and skills needed to stay secure in our interconnected world.

This month serves as a reminder of the ever-evolving landscape of cybersecurity threats and the importance of staying informed and proactive. It's an opportunity for us to come together as a community, from students to faculty and staff, to address the challenges posed by cyber threats and reinforce our commitment to safeguarding the digital infrastructure of our university.

This year, we'll focus on themes such as phishing awareness, password management, the importance of regular software updates, and multi-factor authentication. Our aim is to provide you with the tools and strategies to protect yourself online and to encourage a cybersecurity culture that extends beyond this month, becoming a permanent part of our digital lives.

Please actively participate in our Cybersecurity Awareness Month activities, ask questions, share your experiences, and take away valuable insights to help you stay safe online. Remember that cybersecurity is a shared responsibility, and each of us plays a critical role in fortifying our digital defenses.

Let us use this month as a springboard for continuous learning, awareness, and action. Together, we can ensure that Tulane University remains a safe and secure place to learn, teach, and conduct groundbreaking research.

Thank you for being so committed to cybersecurity. I look forward to a month of insightful discussions and practical cybersecurity solutions.
